Sinead and Lorcan’s elegant and relaxed Dublin city Hall and Guinness storehouse wedding is, for us, as close as you can possibly get to perfection: a wedding venue filled with beautiful light, a bride and groom that are just crazy about each other and the happy faces of family and friends. And so what better way to celebrate your wedding day than with everyone You love and the best pints? What else can a Dublin wedding photographer ask for?
Dublin City Hall Ceremony
There are so many beautiful wedding venues in Dublin to choose from but City Hall is at the top of the list! The architecture is among the finest in Dublin, one of the reasons why the venue needs very little decorations. Most importantly: the light coming through the enormous windows is a photographer’s dream! It illuminates the whole building allowing us to capture some magical moments!
The ceremony was very special and intimate as Sinead and Lorcan’s close friends did all the readings and also introduced themselves to all the guests mentioning their relationship to the couple. The music was provided by a very close friend, Mary Kate Geraghty, accompanied by the Tiny Quartet.
The couple had a drinks reception in City Hall and some short speeches at the bar. While guests made their way to the Guinness Storehouse on buses rented for the day, we stayed in City Hall for some family photos and the couple’s portraits.
On the way to St. James’s Gate, Sinead and Lorcan dropped into Harkins pub for a pint (and a glass) of Guinness. Everyone in the pub was so lovely and they had a moment to themselves before walking down to the venue and being welcomed by their guests.
Guinness Storehouse Wedding Reception
The Guinness Storehouse not only serves the best pint in Dublin, it is a stunning building, full of fascinating artefacts and interesting corners. One of the bride and groom’s favourite area is the ‘World of Advertising’, which features all the amazing Guinness’ ads down through the years.
Dinner was served in The Arrol Suite, that the couple decorated with giant balloons and lights. Speeches were just exceptional! Everybody spoke so eloquently about Sinead and Lorcan and their love for each other.
The traditional band Dó Fá Dó brought everyone one to the dance floor and the party rocked until the small hours.
Sinead and Lorcan’s wedding was really the ultimate celebration of love and friendship!

Sinéad & Lorcan's Kind Words
I don’t have a favourite photo from our wedding day because every time I look through the beautiful album – hand-delivered with chocolate on Christmas Eve (!) – I pick a different one, such is Emmylie and Richie’s talent.
They have an incredible eye for a magical, natural moments, but are also superstars at orchestrating the must-have formalities. Fastidious but not fussy is a powerful combination.
From the second they arrived at Sinéad’s house, Emmylie was at work making everything and everyone comfortable but beautiful. And we really mean work! She even tidied the bedroom and styled it to showcase the dress, the accessories and the bride.
That work ethic didn’t let up at any stage:
From spotting the perfect light in City Hall to capturing dance moves at the Guinness Storehouse.
One of the things engaged couples should remember is that they spend a lot of their wedding day with their photographers. Emmylie and Richie were an absolute joy to spend our special day with. So much so, that in the end, I wouldn’t have minded if the photos were only OK – but they were beyond anything I could have imagined. Their photos showcase the vibe and atmosphere of our big-but-modern Dublin City party wedding, while also keeping it fashion forward and a little editorial.
