This Royal Hospital Kilmainham Wedding that we are sharing today is absolutely gorgeous! Picking the photos was so hard because we had a beautiful ceremony, an epic space and a couple who loves each other deeply! Emily & Maurice wanted a relaxed wedding day to be enjoyed by family and friends and they got everything they wished for.
While the bride got ready at their family home with her sister and two children, the groom was nearby with his best men. We love the details, flowers and colour palette they chose for their wedding.
Ceremony at St. Bartholomew's Church
Their ceremony took place St Bartholomew’s Church. One of our favourite moments was the couple walking down the aisle with their children. It was a beautiful moment to witness and photograph. They also added so many personal details to the ceremony: her brother played the flute and their friends read poems chosen by the couple.
It was also important to them that the kids would have a safe space to play while the adults enjoyed every moment. They had a ‘play corner’ inside the church with lots of toys and the children loved it. The couple also left some crayons and pictures to colour in on the seats of the church so that the little ones could colour during the ceremony – brilliant ideas to keep the small ones entertained!!
Royal Hospital Kilmainham Wedding Reception
After the ceremony, the bride and groom received their guests in the gardens of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Everyone enjoyed the music, drinks and the gorgeous sunshine.
From smaller gatherings to bigger celebrations, the 17th-century hospital has many options for a wedding ceremony and reception. The Great Hall can seat up to 340 guests, the Baroque Chapel sits up to 120 and the Johnston Suite can be divided into smaller rooms for a more intimate celebration. If you are thinking about having an outdoor ceremony or would like to enjoy the drinks reception outside, the gardens are a great option. Impeccably kept, it makes the most beautiful backdrop for your day.
We did all the family and bridal party photos by the garden folly. Emily & Maurice enjoyed a quiet stroll through the formal gardens, while we photographed just the two of them.
Dinner was served in the jaw-dropping Great Hall, with emotional speeches in between meals and The Bentley Boys keeping the dance floor full all night.
If you like our work and would like more information on our collections do not hesitate to get in touch. In order to provide the attention our couples deserve, we deliberately limit the number of weddings we accept each year. We can’t wait to hear from you!
